Organizing for Hospitals or Healthcare Systems
(500+ employees)

Did you know. . . according to the Institute of Medicine, 100,000 deaths each year are caused by information errors or lack of data?

Action Organization can help apply organizing fundamentals in various areas of the Healthcare System to achieve increased productivity, decreased redundancy, reduction in errors and employee satisfaction.

Consultation on System Operations

With a steady reduction in Chief Operating Officers throughout the Healthcare Industry, gaps in communication between departments along with challenges in implementation of strategic plans have been a result. We can help as needed by providing a consultant on a per project basis or for a specified period of time. Consultant Rhonda Sinor has worked with the implementation and operation of various technical systems and can provide project management or training guidance through the process of installation and implementation. She has experience with the Siemens SMS/RMS system, Logician, Cquence transcription system, Lanier VoiceWriter, AMS RecordLink, Softmed and other Hospital-based information systems.

Consultation on Filing Systems / Records Retrieval

It has been our experience in hospital based settings, that not all departments required to keep records are equipped to handle the task effectively. Although the Health Information Management department handles the bulk of the patient's medical record and does so with training and expertise, other departments that need to keep records are often not sure how to file, store and retrieve as effectively as possible. Departments may include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Diabetic Teaching and Pain Management to name a few. These areas could benefit from the advice and implementation of a records management system that not only works for them but for all involved.

Organizing as an Employee Benefit

In a competitive work market, which is only increasing (according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the year 2010 there is going to be a shortfall of 7-11 million workers due in part to the retirement of the Baby Boom generation and lower birthrates), innovative ideas are necessary for attracting and keeping employees. Due to an increase in the exposure of Professional Organizer's and other organizing experts in the media (TV shows such as Neat, Clean Sweep and Mission Organization have played a big role), people are familiar with the benefits of organization and see it as a valuable service they would like to have. With an In-House consultant, this service can be made available to employees at work on a request basis. As individual employees get organized and increase productivity, the whole organization benefits. According to an IDC report from 2001, an enterprise employing 1,000 knowledge workers wastes $48,000 per week, or nearly $2.5M per year, due to an inability to locate and retrieve information. An immediate return on investment can be seen when time lost by employees is gained through organization. Growth strategists predict In-House organizing will be a service companies will increasingly seek as its numerous benefits are realized.
